About Me:

I am junior at Valdosta State University enrolled in the Special Education Early Childhood program. I am 21 years old and have five other siblings. I previousely attended Abraham Baldwin Ag College in Tifton, but all of my high school education was in a private Christian school setting..
I do not know where I want to teach when I graduate, but I am open to teaching in other locations outside of Georgia. I take great pride in family and enjoy spending time with them whenever possible.

Interests & Hobbies:
melon
My interests range from a variety of activities:
  • ART- I enjoy fruit carving (pictured left), drawing, and creative projects.
  • Music - I do play the drums, but I  also enjoy listening to music.
  • Sports - I used to be a runner, but still enjoy playing soccer, raquetball, and most any other out-door activity.
  • Nature - I have a great appreciation for nature and life. Animals, trees, mountains are most impressive to me. I love balck and white photography of trees and landscapes.
  • Traveling -I don't do a ton of that now that I'm in college, but I love going to new places and experiencing other cultures within the U.S.
  • Faith -My faith is very important to me. Much of my life has been shaped from my beliefs and the inspiration of my family and friends. Church activities and youth camps are places I take regular roles.

Favorite Links:

Food Stylin'- by David Leathers”

This website was created by a young man who has made his profession by carving fruits and vegetables. I personally met David at a food show in Atlanta and purchased his products and have since created my own fruit carvings. This website is a excellent source for ideas and a good place to buy all the essential fruit carving tools, materials, and gifts.

 Food carvings

“Vegetable Carving” is a website that has been translated from Chinese so it’s title doesn’t really match what is presented on the webpage. True, the webpage has vegetable carvings, yet it has so much more including flowers and animals carved out of melons, squashes, tomatoes, Chinese veggies, and even soaps. This website interests me because there are many ideas here that I can practice and use in my own carving.

“The Musician’s Friend”

This website is one I visit on a daily basis. I enjoy playing the drums as a hobby and this site is a shopping mall for any musician or hobbyist. Aside from searching through their weekly sales, this website has special daily bargains and weekly giveaways. This website has the latest and best selection and the best prices anywhere. I’m a clearance rack shopper, so good deals on my favorite hobby are worth my time.

 “Paiste”

This website is a great place for me to visit because this is the official website of my favorite brand of cymbals. Though drums are what I play, cymbals are what gives the life to a drum set. Paiste is one of many cymbal companies, but I particularly like their sound and quality. This website dives into detail about their lines of cymbals and offers a unique online sound room to hear realistic sounds of the cymbals I choose to test.

Drum Dojo”

This is a website I stumbled upon when I was searching for information about drums. This website provides valuable information on the practicality of drumming. From basic instructions on how to properly tune a drum, to maintenance, repairing, and the science behind choosing the sound and shape, this website has been a useful aide since I have discovered it.
