All about me...

Hello, my name is Tiffany Tucker.  I was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, and I have lived there for the past twenty-three years.  I am an only child.  I graduated from Fitzgerald High School in May of 1999.  I then attended East Central Technical Institute.  I graduated from ECTI with a Business and Office Technology diploma in December 2000.  It did not take me long to realize that working in an office was not for me.  I stayed at home with my little cousin, Brett, until he began preschool.  Brett and I began the the next level of our education together.  He began preschool at the JD Preschool Center in August 2002, and I began Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.  I graduated from ABAC in December 2004 with an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I moved to Valdosta during the last week of December 2004.  I started the Early Childhood Education Program at Valdosta State University in January 2005.  Moving to Valdosta has been a big change for me.  My hometown is small and everybody knows everybody unlike Valdosta.  I like to shop, travel and spend time with my family.

The experience that led me to teaching...

The one experience that led me to teaching was growing up as an only child.  I spent most of my childhood with only adults.  Not only was I an only child, but I was also an only grandchild on my mama's side of my family.  I only had two older cousins that were both boys on my daddy's side of my family.  I think that not being around children as a child has influenced the time I like to spend with small children now.

The person who inspired me to become a teacher...

The person who inspired me to become a teacher is my cousin, Harry Tucker.  He is the agriculture teacher at Fitzgerald High School.  Harry has taught me many things throughout my life.  I learned a lot from him while he was one of my high school teachers, my FFA advisor and my cousin.  I never looked at him as a teacher.  He was just my big cousin.  He was harder on me about my school work than I thought he should have been at times.  My FFA trips were not always about having fun.  I had to take my books with me if I was missing school.  He made sure that I spent part of my trip completing my school work.  Without him, I would have never been in FFA.  I would have missed the many hogs shows, State FFA Convention, National FFA Convention, and many other fun FFA trips that taught me many things.  He has always supported me in everything that I have done.  If I am ever in doubt about what I am doing, I know that I can call Harry.  He will assure me that I can handle anything, and he will help along the way.

These three children are my life.  The precious, blue-eyed boy on the left is, my cousin Harry's son, Drew Allen Tucker.  The beautiful baby girl in the middle is Gracie Marie Tucker.  She is the only other girl Tucker besides myself.  She is the daughter of my cousin Newt.  The boy on the right is Brett Galen Troupe.  He was my early high school graduation present from my aunt(my mama's sister) and uncle.  I was an only grandchild until three months before my high school graduation.  I had to learn to share "my world" with Brett when I was seventeen.  I did not like sharing "my world" with him at first, but now I would give him "my world."

MY FAVORITE WEBSITES

National FFA Organization
I enjoy visiting this site to see what is happening in FFA.  I was an active FFA member and officer throughout my high school years.  I like to see how things have changed since I was in FFA.

Old Navy
I visit this site often.  Old Navy has cute clothes especially for children.  I like to shop for Brett, Drew and Gracie at this site.

Fitzgerald Herald Leader
This is the local newspaper for Fitzgerald.  I have found myself visiting this site more often since I moved to Valdosta.  I like to read about everything that goes on in Fitzgerald while I am in Valdosta.

Carnival Cruise Lines
I visit this site to see what cruises are available during the time that I can go on vacation.  I love to go on cruises when time permits.

Books

Throughout my college years, I have learned that this is a good site to by textbooks for half the price that I would pay at the college bookstore.  I cannot cut the price of tuition so I cut the cost of my books.  I do not have a money tree growing in my backyard, and this site helps me save money.
