About Me:

I am a 22-year-old Valdosta State University student who is majoring in Early Childhood and Special Education General Curriculum.  I have been married for almost three years and I have a two-year-old daughter.  I also work part time for a home health agency that works with patients that are nursing home eligible but wish to remain in their home.  I love school and work but my family is the most important.

My Talents and Special Accomplishments:

My biggest accomplishment is my daughter.  She was born deaf and the day after her first birthday, she had a cochlear implant, which allows her to hear like everyone else.  She went through her first year of life not being able to hear anything, so after her implant, I had to teach her how to listen and respond to sounds, as well as talk.  She is a very curious child, very smart and independent and can talk your ears off!

Something Special I Want to Accomplish:

Something special that I want to accomplish is finishing this program.  I am ready to graduate with my masters and put it to use.  I am ready to start making a difference in children’s lives by teaching them not only knowledgeable material but skills they can use for the rest of their life.
