Valdosta State University

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am currently a freshman at Valdosta State University.

I have not decided on a major yet, but I am thinking about going into Biology.

I chose to attend Valdosta State University because it was close to home and because a lot of my friends attend Valdosta State University also.

My dad is in the military so my family has had to move a couple of times. I was born in New Mexico, and when I was two we moved to Iceland for a couple of years. When I was five we moved to Nashville, Georgia and have been there for thirteen years so far.

My hometown is not a very big place. Actually even people who live in Valdosta, which is only about forty minutes away, will say they have not heard of Nashville.

The Freshman Year Experience Program

Although I did not experience the full Freshman Year Experience, I still find that the part I did participate in has helped me out. This program helps freshmen with their academic goals, adjusting to college life, and with their academic career goals.
