What is a Radius?
[Review - The centerpoint is
the exact center of the circle.]
Fact 1: The Radius is the distance
between the center point and a point on the outside of the circle. It
is also half the distance across a circle.

Look at the picture above. In this picture is a cross-section of a lime
that I cut in half. The outside rind of the lime is the circle and the
center of the lime is the centerpoint of the circle. If you cut a lime
in half like I did, you can see that it already has small white lines
that would be the radius
of the lime. I have added black lines to the lime to give you an
example. Each black line is an example of a radius because it runs from
a point on the outside of the circle to the centerpoint.
As you can see, the radius
of the lime runs halfway across the center of the circle. A radius is half the distance
across the circle - running from the center point to a point on the
outside of the
circle in the straight line.
