What is a Radius?
[Review - The centerpoint is the exact center of the circle.]

Fact 1: The Radius is the distance between the center point and a point on the outside of the circle. It is also half the distance across a circle.

lime radius

Look at the picture above. In this picture is a cross-section of a lime that I cut in half. The outside rind of the lime is the circle and the center of the lime is the centerpoint of the circle. If you cut a lime in half like I did, you can see that it already has small white lines that would be the radius of the lime. I have added black lines to the lime to give you an example. Each black line is an example of a radius because it runs from a point on the outside of the circle to the centerpoint.

As you can see, the radius of the lime runs halfway across the center of the circle. A radius is half the distance across the circle - running from the center point to a point on the outside of the circle in the straight line.
