  Activity 1: Big Cats        
PLO:
Students will learn how to find information about different animals using the Big Cats website and the Wild Life of the World sofware.

Website or software used in this activity.

Procedures
Have some of  the students pair up on a computer. Allow them to go the Big Cats website that's linked on this page and look at the different Big Cats. Have them to click on different big cats to view their brief discriptions. After they have viewed the different big cats, allow them to choose one of the big cats to do extended research.

Product:
 To enhance thier learning, allow the students to use the Aminaml Kingdom software to look at their big cats' characteristics, habitats and facts. After they do this, have them return to their desks and choose an animal to write about in thier notebook. Encourage students to choose different animals. They also can draw a picture of the animal using the different characteristics that they learned about that animal. While some of the students are writing and drawing, have 2 more students go to the computer and explore different animal





 
  Activity 2: Big Cats

Students will learn about endangered big cats and other animals.

Have some of  the students pair up on a computer. Allow them to go the  Tiger Homes website that's linked on this page and look at the different endangered Big Cats. Have them to click on different big cats to view their brief discriptions and their locations.  After they have viewed the different big cats, allow them to  view different endangered animals.

Product:
 To enhance thier learning, allow the students to use the internet to research and learn about more endangered species and their habitats. Also encourage students to write about one or more endangered animals that were interesting to them, and have them come up with possible solutions to help wildlife conservations save those animals.



Activity 3: Big Cats        
PLO:
 Students will learn how to summarize content knowledge from varied resources in creating a power point presentation.

Procedures
Have some of  the students pair up on a computer. Allow them to visit some or all of the websites that are listed above. Have them to choose one big cat to do a power point slide on. On the slide it should containe a picture of the big cat, 5-7 bulleted brief facts about that big cat, and at least 3 slide effects. Encourage them to be creative. Each group of students should choose a different big cat.

Product:
When the groups are done, they will have created a Big Cat power point presentation from using the resources from this webpage!
