To develop conceptual knowledge about hardware, software and communications. Students will be familiar with the Internet, computer operating system, computer applications, and information technology.
This course covers computing technology and concepts and develops skills in personal-computer applications. Topics include hardware and software terminology, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and the Internet. It also covers the microcomputer operating system, ethics, and current trends in the use of computers. A hands-on laboratory is integrated with the course. A student may not receive credit for both CS 115(CS 1000) and CS 138(CS 1010).
The grade for the course will be assigned based on the following
