These ocean animals are swimming beneath you; and you want to find the probability of seeing a fish. 1st step: Find the NUMBER OF ITEMS YOU WANT for your outcome. (Amount of fish) This is the top number of your fraction.(2) 2nd step: Find the TOTAL NUMBER OF ITEMS. (Amount of ALL animals) This is the bottom of your fractions.(6) 3rd step: Write as fraction.......................................2 6 4th step: Make sure your fraction is reduced...............2 divided by 2=1 6 divided by 2=3 You found that 1 out 3 times you will see a fish in this group of animals! Great job! |
