Relay for Life is an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society that raises money in search of a cure for cancer.  My grandmother is one of the people from my area that is remembered.  She died from cancer before I was born.  My baseball coach during my sophomore and junior year also died from cancer.  So, Relay for Life has a personal meaning.

On April 26, 2003, I volunteered at the Relay for Life in Douglas, Georgia. I spent all ten hours, from 6:00 pm Friday to 6:00am Saturday, at the West Coffee Middle School track.  I along with some of my friends were in charge of the parking for the event.  I also walked for a little while, to help raise money.
