My name is Samantha
Ashley Barnett, and I would like for you to know more about me. I am a
Waycross, GA resident, and I am a Junior in the Early
Childhood Education
program
at Valdosta State University.
I am in my first professional semester, and I have just started my
practicum class in a Pre-K classroom at Moulton Branch Elementary. I
am the
oldest of three children and, as
you can tell, I am a huge Disney fan. My parents take us on trips
to Disney World in Orlando, Fl. as often as they can. To see some

I love to teach my younger siblings
anything I can at any opportunity. I
hope to teach elementary school somewhere here in Georgia after I get
my
Bachelor of Science
degree in Early Childhood Education.
I
have many hobbies,
and I have always especially loved to work with
children, sometimes even teens. I am the teen Drama Group leader at my
church, Living River, as well as the nursery Sunday School worker.
While finishing my
Associates
degree, I had the opportunity to substitute teach at several
schools in my area, and the elementary school kids stole my
heart. I also sponsor a little girl in India through a Christian
ministry called Compassion
International. Her name is Priyanka, and we write letters back and
forth. It's not expensive, but it gets her clothes and shoes, an
education, and even health care.
I have found several websites while developing this homepage that I believe would be extremely helpful for teachers. One site that has proven to be very valuable is Scholastic. It has several educational activity links to Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math for all grade levels. Another really helpful site is A to Z Teacher Stuff, which has tools to create worksheets, lesson plans, lesson themes, and even articles.
