HI! My name is Stephanie Gandy. However, my name will be changing soon. I am getting married on May 21 to Greg Bass. I am a junior in Early Childhood Education. This is my first block semester, and I am very excited. I am loving this semester, but I can't wait until it's over. I will have two weeks after this semester until my wedding. I was born and raised in Georgia, but I will be moving to Tallahassee when I get married. I would like to teach Pre-k as of right now. Once I get into my practicum, that decision may change. I will find out soon enough.
I think a big part of my decision to teach was from my sister. She went to school for early childhood education, and I saw what a joy it was for her. I thought about it for a while and decided that this was what I wanted to do. Each day that passes I realize how this was the best decision I've ever made. I have worked with kids all throughout my life. I babysitted for my family. I am involved with kids at church and they are so wonderful. I am every excited about becoming a teacher, and I look forward to becoming a great influence in their lives.
I would have to say that my sister influenced me to become a teacher. I see how much she loves it, and it really has changed her life. I think being a teacher has to be one of the most nobelest jobs. We have the opportunity to influence the minds of young children and expose them to many things. I want them to learn so much and enjoy it at the same time. I remember hating kindergarten, because I couldn't get used to the idea of school. We didn't have pre-K then, and so it was a big step starting kindergarten. I want to make school enjoyable to children and start them off with a positive attitude about school.
