Sweden is one of the countries farthest from the equator.

Stockholm is in the state of South Dakota.

The name "South Dakota" came from the Sioux tribe meaning "allies."

Answer these questions about the map:

1.  Name one major river in South Dakota.
2.  Name three other states that border South Dakota.



Skokloster is one of Europe's best preserved and well kept castles of the 17th century.  It has over 50,000 interior exhibits, which is why it is sometimes regarded as "one huge cabinet of art."

Answer these Questions:

1.  Do some research on Skokloster and find the name of the family who first occupied this castle.
2.  Find out how long it took to build Skokloster and whether or not it is finished.



The Chinese ring-necked pheasant is South Dakota's state bird.  It was introduced to South Dakota in 1898.
Answer these Questions.

1.  Research this bird.  Did it originate from the United States?  If not, where did it from come from?
2.  How do you think people spot this bird and tell the difference between it and other birds?
