IntroductionKindergarten students enter school at various levels. The majority recognizes some letters of the alphabet but has not been exposed to the sounds that these letters make. Demonstrate an understanding that there are systematic and predictable relationships between print and spoken words. b. Recognize and name all uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet c. Match all consonant and short-vowel sounds to appropriate letters. d. Blend individual sounds to read one-syllable decodable words. e. Apply learned phonics skills when reading words and sentences in stories.
