| Cyperus sanguinolentus, Bloodscale Sedge,
is widespread in the Old World from Eurasia, Malesia, Australia, and Africa.

southeastern United States, previously thought to be the narrow endemic
species C. louisianensis, are actually the widespread weed C.
sanguinolentus.
