Cyperus hyalinus combines characteristics
of Cyperus, Kyllinga, and Pycreus and has been placed in
the monotypic genus Queenslandiella.
This remarkable little sedge has long been known from tropical and
subtropical areas of the Old World. Before its 1999 discovery in
Dade County, Florida, this species was not known to occur in the Western
Hemisphere (Carter & Mears, Sida 19:345-351, 2000). |
