BIOL 4950 - Directed StudyCOURSE DESCRIPTION. Prerequisite: completion of all required upper-division biology courses with distinctly superior academic records and the consent of the instructor. Limited to selected students with approval of instructor and Department Head. A specific problem to include supervised investigation and a report in format of biological journals. NOTE: Prospective students are advised that successful completion of the Directed Study project will require a minimum of 3 hours of intensive work per week for each credit hour. Students are encouraged to present results of their Directed Study projects at the Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium sponsored by the Council for Undergraduate Research. Registration for Directed Study is handled directly by the Department Head. Students interested in Directed Study should consult with their instructor and the Department Head well in advance of registration.
