ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY
The Department of Philosophy seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Religious Studies, beginning August 1999. PH.D. and teaching experience required. Candidate must be comfortable with historical critical methods and have competencies in the Philosophies and Religions of East Asia, as well as Western Religious Thought and Philosophy. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in multi-cultural and interdisciplinary undergraduate education required. Interest in Applied Ethics and Racial/Ethnic Studies important. Competence/interest in incorporation of Information Technology and World Wide Web in Classroom important. Four courses each semester will include at least one section, but no more than two sections of World Religions, Fundamentals of Philosophy, or Fundamentals of Religion. Interviews at AAR.
