The Berlin Wall physically separated the city of Berlin, Germany into two sections, known after 1961 as East Berlin and West Berlin.  Either section of the city became isolated from the other, the effect intended by the Soviet Union, who had ordered the wall built, in order to prevent the massive refugee flows from East Berlin to the freedom of the West.  This site will provide some insight into the Berlin Wall, and will help to raise some of the deeply-seeded issues hidden beneath the physical barrier produced by the wall.

Wait! I left my Pokémon cards on the other side!
