Quilt Rack

This quilt rack was one of my earlier projects, done when the "shop" was a couple of sawhorses and a small corner of the back porch. The quilt rack is made of Ponderosa pine and finished with a honey oak stain/polyurethane. I used poly to be sure there was no chance of the finish damaging the quilts.

Construction is simple butt joints with screws and plugs. One notable feature is the thick feet built up from three pieces of wood, each with a different routed profile. This was a Christmas present for someone who already had some similar furniture so it was well received. As far as I know, it is still holding up well. Maybe I'll get a chance to make some more someday.
