Garden Bench

This is a rugged garden bench I built for my wife after she completed a nature trail through our woods. The trail begins behind our house, passes behind the No Yankee Workshop and ends up at the edge of our property near a cypress tree. The bench is placed about halfway down the trail underneath a large magnolia tree.

The base of the bench is made from old 4x4 lumber and some old pressure-treated 1x4 stock. The back is a cedar slab saved from some trees I had sawn into lumber. The seat is one of the slabs from my old workbench.

This is one of my favorite spots to read the newspaper on Sunday mornings...
