Section 1: Introduction

  My name is Omari K. Brown I am from Decatur, Ga. , I plan to pursue a career in business marketing. I chose Valdosta State University solely for it's location, far away from home, still get the hope scholarship, it's quiet (most of the time) and when it's time to party...nuff said.

- The purpose of the Freshman Year Experience is to help first year students decide what major it is that they might want to pursue if they are not sure. It also helps them to get acquainted with their college environment.

- The Freshman Year Experience helped me to get many of my core classes out of the way so that I could go ahead and prepare for my major. Also being in the Freshman Year Experience helped me to meet people. In most of your core classes you have all of the same people which helps you to get to know them easier.

- The Freshman Year Experience helped me get ready for the rest of my college experience by assisting me in choosing my first and second semester classes and providing me with good professors.

- I learned from the Freshman Year Experience that many of the college students coming into college have no idea what they want to major in, or what job they might want once they graduate.
