Hello
everyone! My name is Nancy Wallace
and my home town is Villa
Rica,
Georgia.
Villa Rica is
west of Atlanta and is considered to be the City of Gold. After
many
years of being mom and a business owner, I began my journey for the
educational
spectrum. I graduated in 2005 earning my bachelors of
science and
social science at Mercer
University and
majored in
Human Services with a minor in Religion. I was employed at
Bay
Spring Middle School, in Villa Rica as a paraprofessional while I was
working
on my bachelors degree. In 2008 I landed my first teaching
job at
Villa Rica High School, co-teaching special eduation in a Math 1 class
all
day. In the fall of 2009, I will begin my second year journey at Villa
Rica Middle School, as
the inschool coordinator of the special education
department. I am now pursuing my Masters of Art in
Teaching
from Valdosta State in Special Education. I am very excited to become a
fully
certified teacher.
When I am not teaching or studying for my classes, I enjoy spending
time with
my husband, and our two sons. We love going to Lake
Wedowee,
located in Randolph
County, Alabama. There we spend a lot of time on the water skiing
and
knee-boarding.
This year I will be teaching 6th grade resource Math, Literature and
Language
Arts. The rocket readers in my class will be reach new heights
this year,
soaring above their last years test scores. Because I teach
different
subjects, I find edhelper very
helpful in
searching for additional information and teaching strategies.
Being a
superstar at reading only makes the student outshine in the academic
subject. Being a good reader enhances all subjects.
