About Me:
I am a Early Childhood and Special Education Major at
Valdosta State University.
I was born in Homewood,
Alabama. I have lived most of my life in Atlanta, GA. I
have a younger brother and 2 Yorkshire Terrior dogs. I switched
schools a lot growing up. I graduated from Northview High School in
2005. I love to take pictures. Especially pictures of the
outdoors and things in nature. I also really like to do mission
work and go on mission trips. Family and friends are also very
important to me. I have a small family and they are very
important to me.
My Talents
and/or Accomplishments:
I used to play soccer and jazz dance for about 6 years
each. I also have been in colorguard for six years now.
During my second year of doing colorguard, my team was offered the
oppurtunity to go to New Orleans and perform in the pre-game and
half-time show. We raised the money and traveled there to perform
with the best from around the states.
Something
Special I would like to do:
I would like to be able to do is to learn sign
language. I have caught on to some because I have friends who
have learned it. I would really love to be able to sign and know
another way of communicating.
Some of My
Favorite Websites
1.Sierra Service Project Sierra Service
Project is a group that has college
kids in
charge of the mission trips that junior high or high school groups can
attend. They are based on the west side
of the United States
mostly but they have gone overseas. When
going on the mission trip you work hard and learn about the culture of
the
place that you are staying in.
2.Appalachian Service
Project Appalachian
Service Project a also run by college
students. This one is on the east side
of the United States. You work hard on the homes
that you work on,
in hopes that it will help the families out.
You also become close with the people that you went with and get
to see
a different area than what you live in.
3.Mission
Restore Mission
Restore is a Wesley Foundation college
mission trip
that will actually take place this year in the middle of May.
Different students from different Wesley
Foundations will come together to help those who are still in need in New
Orleans.
These students will get the opportunity to
meet other students from
the ministry and will also get to help those
in need.
4.Adventures
in Missions Adventures in
Missions is a group that has
students all over
the world. They have people who go on
mission
trips and minister to others and then those same people will have a
group come
and they will show them around the area, will give them different
opportunities
to do different kinds of missions in the place.
Essential2life Essential2life
is a program that goes into the
inner city
public housing communities. They go and
work with the children 6 days a week.
One of the things that they do is to help out in the community
and to
also bring something called Kids Explosion which is when they have a
worship
service for the kids which brings music, games and skits.
The families also get visits from staff and
those who volunteer.
