Oldest Camp For Girls Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Camp Boasts No Accidents
No serious accidents are recorded in the fifty-year history of Camp Glenrochie, the oldest camp for girls in the United States.
“We have only two regulations,” Director Frank R. Reade explained. “The girls must be quiet in the tents after 10 p. m. and they must obey the counsellors.”
The counselors see to it that the girls follow the common-sense rules of safety so all can enjoy their camp activities.
During the fifty years, only two have broken bones. One girl broke her collarbone when she tried to jump the tennis net and another fractured an arm when she fell over a girl on the sidelines while walking backwards and waiting for a basketball to be thrown in from out of bounds.
