
There are many ways for a literary work to portray its theme or themes. This will depend primarily on what kind of book you are reading. If a book is fiction, non-fiction, or a fable, this will greatly shape the theme being portrayed.
In a story of fiction, the
theme is not typically intended to preach or teach anything in
particular. As

reader to
extract the from the characters, events, and settings that make up the
story. In a fable, the theme will usually
be in the
form of a moral, such as in “The Three Little Pigs” or “The Boy Who
