Mrs.
Kisamore
My
name is Martha Kisamore. I was born and reared in North Fort Myers, Florida
till we moved to Georgia
when I was 15 years old. I now live in Quitman, GA. I am
married; I
have 2 boys, Kenneth and Matthew
and
1 girl, Jessica and 1 grandson, Aultin James Terrell. I am a
senior at
Valdosta State University majoring in Early Childhood Education.
I have
had a passion to teach since I was a child, teaching my baby dolls and
stuffed
animals.

My mother, a Sunday school teacher, allowed me
to help her prepare her flannel graph lessons until I was old
enough to teach children's church. In time, I also taught
Sunday school and a leader of the youth in my
church.
I became a paraprofessional and it was there that a colleague began to
encourage me to go to college and become a teacher. I have
experienced
many battles, such as my mother dieing of cancer and other things but
finally I
am a senior now in my professional semesters. All of the praise
goes
to God
who is my life as a whole. I could not have gone through all the things
I went through, if He had not been by my side. During the hardest
of times he would reach down pick me up in his arms and carry me.

My
special interest has
always centered on teaching, whether it was in church or school.
It is
totally unexplainable to describe what it is like to have a child that
continuously speaks the words, "I can't get it! I can't do it!" to
finally
exclaim with a brightness greater than the sun on his face as he
exclaims, "I
got
it!". The experience of seeing the pride in a child's face
when
he can write his name "all by myself". Then there is the
group you’re
teaching at the start of the school year who makes failing grades, and
has no
self-esteem
but then they gradually pull themselves up to passing grades. To
have
a student to call
you at home to receive help with his homework but yet he has showed no
prior
interest in learning. If only I could be
the instrument that makes learning happen in a child’s life. I feel
this is my
purpose
and my dream. Also, I enjoy trying
to
do
crafts, sew and make things. I am able
to sew, crochet, knit, macramé, embroidery and create different
little things. Hopefully this will be
something I can utilize in my teaching. Once
I am certified, I
hope
to be able to travel to different places nearby and branch out to
further
places, even to foreign lands during the summer. Then
I
can share my experiences with my students.

My
other interest consists of
God, church, and family. I accepted Jesus as my
personal Savior at a very early age and I have lived my life to please
Him in
everything I do. I attempt to live by His word daily and it sets
the way
I live, treat others and run my life. Nothing is more
important
than God. My goal is to go one day soon to live with Him.
I'd
rather be in church than anywhere else. I am proud of my
children. My children have supported me in every way possible in
helping me to fulfill my dream of graduating college with a teaching
certificate. My children have grown into adults that I am very
proud
of.
Kenneth is finishing up college to become a Pharmacy Technician,
Matt is
working at a Military Base in Albany, and my daughter is married with
the most
beautiful baby boy in the world.
She took art all four years of her high school and received
awards
for most
of her work. Her goal is to teach blind children and teach them
to
express themselves in art. With all this what more could you ask
for!

My
Favorite Websites
Teaching Quotes
Names This
website is very unique in that it gives
encouraging
quotes. This is something I enjoy to
relax and reflect on after a long week with the children.
Church of God I put
this website because this is the church I am a member
of and it explains the scriptures that I base my beliefs on. Look
under history to know how we originated;
click on Beliefs/Practical Commitments and Doctrinal Commitments, there
are
many other aspects to this denomination but this is the foundation.
Valdosta State University I
chose this website because this is my college
that is preparing me to be a better teacher.
Google Search Engine This is the beginning
to a great search for any information
you may want to prepare yourself to teach.
Georgia
State Parks When
summer comes around I hope to start traveling and the
state parks is where I would like to spend the night.
