This course is designed to--
 | explore some of the fundamental dimensions of professional writing,
including grammar and usage and technological applications. |
 | expose the students to the career options in professional writing |
Your grades will be based on the following projects--
 | Exams covering material presented in class and in the handbook. |
 | Class projects – You will complete several projects, including a web
page, and a PowerPoint presentation. These projects will entail some outside
research. |
Class policies
 | After three absences, I will lower your final grade by a letter. A
tardy counts as an absence. After five absences, I will fail you. If you
see that you are going to be out of class for more than a couple of days,
please get in touch with me. I take attendance seriously. Learning is a
cooperative effort, and if you do not show up, you are not pulling your
weight in the class. |
 | Late assignments will be penalized 20 points if submitted within one week
of due date. No assignments will be accepted later than one week past the
due date. |
 | Any missing projects at quarter's end will automatically result in a
failing class grade. |

 | 90-100 - A |
 | 80-89 - B |
 | 70-79 - C |
 | 60-69 - D |
 | Below 60 - F |
