for Parents and Their Students
There are two links for each content area on this page. They are fun and educational activities for the grades listed below and contain useful information for parents.
                   

Content Area	Grades PK-2	Grades 3-5
Math	Counting: A counting game that has you count the number of dots in the square given. Addition: An addition game that gives you an addition problem and four possible answers to chose from where you have to pick the correct one.	Addition,  Subtraction, and Multiplication: Pick what type of problems you need to be quizzed on: addition, subtraction, or multiplication. Then you are given sixty seconds to answer as many as possible. Clock Times: Practice showing the times given by moving the clock hands.
Language Arts	Spelling: Drag the letters to spell the object shown. Then check your answers. Word Endings: Chose the ending you would like to work with and then it will quiz you on that ending. For example: the ending "ag" is used in rag, tag, and bag.	Grammar Gorillas: Grammar Gorillas game that helps you identify the parts of speech in a sentence. (Has a beginner level with only nouns and verbs and an advanced level that covers all the parts of speech.) Word Find with Short "a": A word find that uses the short "a". You can click on the arrow on the bottom of the page to get more word finds.
Reading	Letters of the Alphabet: This web site gives you all the letters of the alphabet both upper and lower case. You can click on them to hear the correct pronunciation. Reading Books: Pick a book (out of the eight books given) to open and read on the computer.	Read "Emily Elizabeth Goes to School": Read the book "Emily Elizabeth Goes to School". In the story, you will have to fill in the blanks so every time you read it it could be different. Letter Association: Practice picking out objects that start with the first letter of the picture given.
Science	Looking at Plants and Amimals: Click on the first heading: Looking at Plants and Animals. You use a magnifying glass to look at things in the picture shown and as you do it it tells you about what you are exploring. From Egg to Salamander: Click on the first heading: From Egg to Salamander and read the short passage about it. There are vocabulary words pulled out and defined. Also there is a fun activity to do listed at the bottom.	Science Crossword Puzzles: There are many crossword puzzle categories to chose from, so pick one and have fun! Quizes on Science Facts: Chose a word game that is listed under your grade level. The activities quiz you on science facts that relate to your age level.
Social Studies	Martin Luther King: Martin Luther King Word Search. World Flags: World flags matching game.	Mystery Person Matching Game: You are trying to find the mystery person hidden under the cards by flipping over the cards and trying to match them correctly. When you get a correct match part of the mystery person will be reveled. Famous People in History: You are given the picture of a famous person and are given four choices of who it might be. You must chose the correct one. After you correctly answer it more facts about that person will come up.
Art and Music	Bookmarks: Has three bookmarks to chose from. Click on one print it out and have your child decorate it. The bookmark may even inspire them to read more! Colors: Teach your child about primary and secondary colors with this project.	Coffee Filter Butterfly: Learn how to make a coffee filter butterfly. Very easy and fun to do! Create Music: Is a children's online creative music environment for children of all ages. It's a place for kids to compose music, play with musical performance, music games and music puzzles.
Drama and Dance	Alice's Adventure in Wonderland: Listen to Alice's Adventure in Wonderland (the dramatic production). Ex-slave Dramatic Readings: Former slaves tell of their lives in bondage and of what it was like to be a slave no more. Hear parts of original recordings of ex-slaves and dramatic readings too!	Children's Theater Plays: Well-conceived Children's Theater Plays, which will delight young and old. Parents may want to purchase some of these plays for there children. Romeo and Juliet: Romeo and Juliet Character List. Get a summary about the characters and let your child practice a scene preformed by that character.
Physical Education	Weight Machines: Pictures demonstrating the proper way to for children to use weight machines. Playground Information: For parents to read about before letting their children go onto the playground.	Exploring a Scrapbook of Recreation: David and Eric are very active brothers. Find out how they stay fit by looking at a scrapbook, listening to them tell you about the pictures on each page, and then try the activities yourself. Jump Rope Games: Lists many jump rope games and how to play them.
Health and Hygiene	Health and Hygiene: Health and hygiene kit suggestions for each state. Useful for any age level. Good information for parents to know. Oral Health: Oral health topics are discussed on this web site.	Nutrition and Diet: Talks about why and how children should have good nutrition and a balanced diet. Foods Found in the Kitchen: Is a game that asks you to find things in the kitchen. When you find them it will give you additional facts about the product that you found.
