About Me: 

When I was growing up my father was in the Air Force. My diversity probably derives from the many different places that I have lived: North Carolina, Germany, Oklahoma, Turkey, and Georgia. My father retired about five years ago in Valdosta, Georgia, where I am still currently living with my family today. The only sport that I have ever excelled in is swimming. I love the outdoors; especially the beach. I am not very athletic, but my craftiness makes up for it. Scrap booking is a strong passion of mine. I have completed three books already, and I am now starting on the fourth! Also, in the past few years I have been working on a granny-square crochet blanket that I am very proud of (see picture to the left). One thing that people find strange about me is my obsession to organize. Organization has always been a must in everything I do especially in closets. I do not share this passion of organization with any of my friends or family, so it is quite unique. A secret dream of mine would be to help on the television program Clean Sweep. I would simply have a blast!

                  

Why I Want to be a Teacher:

I would like to become an elementary school teacher so I can mold and shape the minds of the future. Most young children are egger to learn if they have a good instructor. I would like to be that fun, educational instructor that makes a difference in their lives. I believe I would also be a positive role model for my future students to look-up to. Watching young minds grow gives me a sense of accomplishment that I could not possibly find anywhere else but teaching.

My Inspiration:

There is not one particular teacher that stands out in my mind. Instead, I am inspired by a combination of many of my instructors teaching characteristics. Every teacher I had that inspired me made the learning process fun. The teachers that I considered good always had a plan and a back-up plan in case the first one did not workout. They never led the class to disarray. I enjoy listening to a teacher that is excited about his or her subject matter. I would like to become a teacher that has all of these good qualities and more. Maybe one day I will inspire one of my own students to follow in my footsteps to become a teacher also.
