About Me:
My Name is Lynsie Oakley and I am 21 years old. I am a student at Valdosta State University, majoring in Early Childhood/Special Education and one day I hope to have my very own classroom in an Elementary School. I have been married to  my wonderful husband, Adam, for eight months and we will be celebrating our first anniversary in May. I enjoy spending time with my husband and my family as well as working at the Y.M.C.A. part-time.

My Talents and Special Accomplishments:

I have achieved several special accomplishments over the last year. Besides getting married, I also graduated from Waycross College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and was accepted into the Early Childhood/Special Education Program at VSU. I don't consider myself as having any special talents, however I do have several hobbies that I enjoy including reading, cooking, photography, and scrapbooking. I also like to collect quotes from famous people, books, movies, and television which I like to read for inspiration. My favorite quote is:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
-Eleanor Roosevelt

My Goals:

I have several goals that I would like to accomplish, the most important being to graduate with a Masters Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. I also hope to get a job as a teacher in either the Ware County or Pierce County school systems. My husband and I also hope to buy or build a house within the next couple of years.

Five of my favorite websites :

1. I attend Valdosta State University.

vsu
2. I love to collect quotes! I get a lot of quotes from Hollie's Quotes, a website that contains hundreds of quotes from books, movies, television, and music.

3. Reading is a very important part of my teaching philosophy. I feel that it is not only my job to teach children how to read, but also to teach them to LOVE to read. Scholastic Books is a great website that offers books at affordable prices for both teachers and students.

4. Learning Planet is a great resource for teachers. This website provides activites, worksheets, games and other teaching tools that are wonderful in helping to plan activities for students from Preschool up to 6th grade.

5. The National Center for Learning Disabilites is a wonderful resource for both parents and teachers of students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade who have a learning disability. This website provides classroom strategies for teachers, as well as additional resources to better help serve those children with a LD.
