My name is Lindsay R. Scott. I am currently classified as a junior at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. where I'm majoring in Early Childhood Education. I am a native of Athens, Georgia.
My family consist of numerous educators. Throughout my life I have seen many of them succeed at high levels as educators. I have always had a desire to work with children. Before I entered college, I was interested in becoming a pediatrician but I couldn't handle the fact of children being so sick. So I decided the next best thing to healing a child is teaching one. I also believe that every child should receive equal opportunities in their educational careers.
My mother is my primary inspiration. She is currently a principal in Walton County School District. My mother has taught me different ways in helping children succeed in life through academics. She has also given me opportunites to work with different children through tutoring and mentoring progams in her school district, while connecting me to other educators in other counties in Georgia. Another form of inspiration is the younger generations that consist of my two sisters and younger family members. I want them to be able to receive the best education possible and given every opportunity to succeed academically.
