Hi! My name is Lawana Burke and I graduated from Telfair County High School May 2001. I am a junior at Valdosta State University.  I am seeking my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Reading Education . I plan to graduate December 2005 and teach second or third grade within a public school system of Georgia.

                                                


I have lived with my parents in Jacksonville, Georgia all of my life.  I have two brothers, one sister and one sister-in-law .  Four years ago my niece was born.  That is when I really learned how precious children are and how important it is to impact their lives positively.  I am the youngest and I never had someone look up to me.  I was the one looking up to other people. Now, that I have a niece she is always watching everything I do.  I like playing games on Yahoo with her.  I want to take her to see Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain so she can learn about butterflies.
                                                   
                                                

I love spending time with my family during holidays and special occasions.  I also like hanging out with my friends and watching Disney movies.  I have visited Daytona Beach, Florida and Orlando, Florida all with the past year.  I would like to visit Washington, DC to explore the White House and New York to compare the North to the South.
