   About me
My name is Lindsey Williams.  My major is Special Education General Curriculum Early Childhood.  I had lived in Stone Mountain, Georgia all of my life until I came to Valdosta for college.  I have a large family which includes, my mother, stepfather, father, stepmother, sister, brother, four step-sisters, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, a step-brother-in-law, a nephew, a step-nephew, and one niece or nephew on the way.  I went to Parkview High School and graduated there in 2003.  I spend all of my free time at the Tau Kappa Epsilon house when I am not in class, at my job, or working on homework.

  Why I want to teach
I want to be a teacher because I like to help people learn things that will be important to them for the rest of their lives.  I chose early childhood because I enjoy working with younger children and also because there is so much to be taught to that age group.  I think that an early childhood educator's job is very important because of their role in building the students' knowledge bases.  Young children need a lot of guidance when it comes to learning and I believe that I will do a great job helping them along the way.

 Inspiration

My inspiration for teaching is a woman named Eleanor.  She owns a special needs school in Gwinnett County.  I volunteered at her school one summer for a few weeks.  The students were all in preschool through third grade and had mild to severe disabilities.  Before I went to the school, I had little experience with children with special needs.  The first day I went, I had no idea what I was getting into, but at the end of the day I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life being a teacher for young children with special needs.
