| Activity 1 1. Let's Explore! 2. PLO - Student's will learn what make magnets attract or repel. The students will be able to name specific objects that will attract or repel. 3. Tell Me About Magnets 4. Procedures The class will participate in a whole group informal discussion. The students will explore and explain why objects attract and repel. The students will be able to use real magnets during the discussion for hands on experience. 5. Product: Students will make a chart. Each student will title their chart and list five objects that attract and five objects that will repel from our classroom. The students will write one paragraph in their own words to explain why magnets attract or repel. |
| Activity 2 1. What Do I Know? 2. PLO - Students will read a short lesson and answer questions at the end of the lesson. All students will print the results of the questions to have an asssessment of what they know for their own knowledge. Students will learn the strengths and forces of magnets. 3. What Do I Know? 4. Procedures Students will view the site and take a self assessment for their own information. This will give them guidance on what they need to re-explore and find out more information on. There will be an informal discussion. 5. Product: Students will take the assessment and write in their science journal. They will make a KWL chart. They will make a "Know" column, "Want" to know column, and "Learned" column. This will be a graded activity. Students must list atleast two items in each column. |
| Activity 3 1. Millionaire 2. PLO - This activity is making learning fun. All students will answer all questions on what makes magnets attract, repel, and it's strengths. 3. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire 4. Procedures Each student will play the Millionaire game independently first. There will be a pymarid posted on the bulletin board with the dollar amount listed. Each students name will be placed by the amount they have been awarded. Students can play the game to enhance their learning as many times as possible. There will be a Millionaire Tournament at the end of the week. Students will be placed in teams. There will be prizes awarded. 5. Product: Each student will write a question and answer on the back of their name on the bulletin board. The question must be a unique question that has not been discussed in class. Students can have assess to the internet to research information not discussed in class. This question will be used in the tournament. Each team will have assess to the internet to research the answer. The team will be formed and students will make a power point presentation with their group questions and answers listed. |

Trouble Shooting: Making columns and rows will be difficult at first, but the students will be able to over come this obstacle. |

Trouble Shooting: Small groups will have to determine what looks attractive and by following the rubric will determine what needs to be added or eliminated. First time users will have difficulty at first, but the students will work as a team to over come any obstacles. |

Trouble Shooting: Students may have difficulty on knowing what area to uncover first. May have difficulty moving about the software. Students may not want to stop to go on to other topics once they enter Web Magnet. Great learning experiences with more than enough information on magnets. |
