Materials and Equipment:
    -research materials for each group

Procedures:
Step One:
The teacher will divide the class up into 4 groups.  Each group will be given one of 4 topics to research.  The four topics are as follows:
Adolf Hitler; the Nazi Party; Jewish children during the Holocaust; concentration camps

Step Two:
The teacher will tell the students that they are going to create a research paper on the topic they have be assigned.  They are to break up the topic so that everyone has a part.  The research papers are to be detailed.  If the group has Hitler, they are to tell about his entire life.  Get the earliest information out there about him.  The group should discuss his political career.  The ending of his career and life should also be addressed.  The group with the Nazi Party should discuss how the party got started, what type of standards they held, any other important information they find.  The other two groups should research their topics and give any interesting facts about their topics.

Step Three:
The students will use many different types of media to find out information.  The teacher will explain to the students that they can use websites, dictionaries, encyclopedias, books, etc.  The students will use these resources to gather their information.

Step Four:
The students will compile all the information they have gathered into at least a 5 page paper.  It may or may not be typed, but it must be double spaced either way.  The report will be handed into the class.

Step Five:
The students will divide up the report.  Each student will orally present a section of the report to the class.  The students are to familiarize themselves with what they are going to say.  They will have notes written on the index cards.  They will not read word for word from the card.  The students are to look at the class and only refer to their index cards as ques.

Assessment:
The teacher will collect the written report.  This report will be graded.  The teacher will also grade how well each group presents their project orally.  A rubic for both activities is included.
