Introduction
This unit is designed for a fifth grade class.  The unit is designed to expand on the QCC that covers World War II.  The expansion deals with the Holocaust, mainly children who lived in Germany and the surrounding areas.  The unit teaches students how Jewish children were treated during the Holocaust.

Unit Lessons

Introductory Lesson
This lesson integrates Social Studies and literature.  Students listen to a story then write a simulated journal.

Inquiry Lesson
This lesson teaches students more about children in the Holocaust.  Students write paragraphs about what they learned.

Virtual Field Trip
This lesson is a virtual field trip.  The students will take a virtual field trip to a website that talks about true life stories of Holocaust children.  It includes three activites for the students.

This is a rubric for the virtual field trip.
Geography Lesson
This lesson is designed for students to actually see where the Holocaust took place.  The students will use an atlas to locate 20 countries that were involved in the Holocaust and locate the place where 3 concentration camps are located.
Lesson 4 Rubric
This rubric is designed to use with the Geography lesson.
Collaborative Activity/Presentation
This is a lesson that requires the students to create and present a report in a small group.
