Hey! My name is Lauren Elizabeth Johnson. I am 18 years old and currently a Freshman here at Valdosta State University. I am majoring in Exercise Physiology, and then planning on going to medical school to become a Radiologist. I decided to attend Valdosta State University because of the size and location. I didn't want to attend a school that was either too big or too small, and I also wanted to be relatively close to home. I am from Thomasville, Georgia, which is only 40 minutes from Valdosta. I have two brothers, an older one named Drew and a younger one named Jeb.
The Freshman Year Experience Program
The Freshman Year Experience Program is designed to help freshman students come together to build friendships and create a sense of belonging. It helps make the transition from high school to college much easier. It is also designed to teach students time management, good study habits, and to help them declare a major. I am currently in Dr. Tillman's Freshman Year Experience Class. She has helped me to better understand the Core Curriculum and made selecting classes much easier.
