Come Join the Teddy
Bears' Picnic!
Hi everyone! My name
is Lauren Hunter...some of you may know me as "Miss" Lauren. Welcome to
my page!
"So happy you stopped by! It makes me FLIP for joy!"

I am originally from Roxboro,
North Carolina, a town that is about half an hour away from the
Raleigh/Durham area. I lived there for six years, and then my family
moved to Donalsonville, Georgia, where I have lived ever since. I
started dancing at the age of five and continued until I graduated from
high school. From 1999 to 2004, I took classes at A & A Dance,
which I am convinced is the best studio there is! We competed a few
times at regional competitions, and in 2003, my dance won 1st place at
the Stars of
Tomorrow competition. I was THRILLED. At the moment, I am looking
for someplace where I can take classes again, because I really miss
dancing. It’s a stress reliever for me, along with being really fun.

In addition to dance, I enjoy arts and crafts. I am learning to make my
own jewelry. Fire Mountain
Gems & Beads is a store with really good jewelry
making supplies. Many organizations at VSU also share my time,
including the Honor Student
Association and Kappa Delta Pi education honor society, but my
favorite organization that I am involved in is Sigma Alpha Omega sorority.
I joined in Fall 2006 and I love it more every day. I am still just a
big kid at heart, which is one reason I enjoy working with children…and
playing with teddy bears on my website. :)

I started elementary school in the Seminole County (GA) system and went
to Seminole County schools through eighth grade. In ninth grade I
transferred to a very small high school, Miller County High School, in
tiny Colquitt, GA, which I much preferred to the Seminole County
system. While going to MCHS, I was active in the Beta club and on the
yearbook staff. I graduated from there in 2004, in a class of only 72
students. I am now a student at Valdosta
State University, majoring in early childhood/interrelated special
education, which ultimately results in certification in both fields. I
hope to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in spring 2008, and my
master’s degree in spring 2009.
