I have really enjoyed being in the FYE Program. It has taught me the importance of serving my community. It has also been very helpful during the process of scheduling my classes. I have met a lot of people throughout the program. It is very comforting to go into a classroom knowing that I am going to know a few people from my cohort. I have also enjoyed having my academic advisor as my instructor. That way I am always able to get in touch with her to talk about my needs.

Hey, my name is Kaylane Fowler, I am currently a freshman at Valdosta State University. I was born In Valdosta, Georgia and have lived here all of my life. I am still somewhat decided on my major, accounting or something in the medical field, so I am just taking CORE classes for now. I have a part-time job, babysitting. I baby-sit after school everyday for a few hours. During my free time I enjoy baking. I love to bake for people, whether it is for a birthday, a special occasion or just because I want to. I am a member of Phi Mu, and I absolutely love it! It has allowed me to meet many new people and make many friends!
