If you Strike
Out, Go Down Swinging, K!

About Me
My name is Kristin and I was born in Bremerton,
Washington. I moved to Kingsland, Georgia when I
was three years
old. My dad was in the military, but we didn't move around like
the typical military family. I grew up with both of my parents
and my sister Brooke. I graduated high school in 2005 with
people I went to Kindergarten with. Currently, I am a Junior at
Valdosta State University and
majoring in Early
Childhood and Special
Education. Also, since I graduated high school my dad
retired from the military and my family moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida. We
live ten minutes away from the beach!!!!

Talents and Accomplishments
I started playing softball when I was six years old and I
continued playing every year until I graduated high school. I
really enjoyed playing Varsity softball and being a Lady Wildcat!
My senior year I had a .400 batting average! It was amazing to
stick with a sport for so many years. In case you didn't know,
when you strike out swinging it is recorded in the books as "K", but
when you strike out looking it goes down as a backwards "K".
Although, I am proud of my
softball career, my greatest accomplishment
is staying true to
myself and what I believe in.

Something Special I'd Like To Do
Since I grew up in south Georgia I have never lived in a place
that had four seasons. I would love to live in a place where you
can experience Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Some of My Favorite Websites:
1. The
Teacher's Corner
This site has many different bulletin board ideas. I am really into trying to make things my
own, and I think it would give me some good starting ideas.
2.
National Association for the Education
of Young Children
This
site is an amazing resource. It has a lot
of up to date information that
teachers need to know, and also lets you know about seminars and things
going
on for teachers. (I am a member)
3. Georgia Department of
Education
This website will be my best friend.
It is very easy to look up standards and see
what needs to be taught in each grade level.
4. Elementary
Art Lesson Plans
This site has fun art lesson plans.
I want to be able to incorporate art in some
of my lessons and using this resource will be helpful.
5. Kim's
Korner for Teacher Talk
This is another site that has some pretty amazing
bulletin
boards. I want to be able to make some
really cool ones for my children to enjoy and learn from.
