 A Day in the Life of a Pilgrim or Indian
Imagine that you lived in the time of the Pilgrims and Indians. You noticed that you Indian friends look different from your other Pilgrim friends.You also have daily chores like hunting, fishing, cooking, or gathering harvest.  When all the harvesting is done, it is time for the big feast and you decide to bring your favorite dish.
Lesson 1 Activity
  1. Decide whether you would want to be an Indian or a Pilgrim.
  2. Once you have decide, draw a picture of what you would look like and the clothes that you would wear using crayons. For ideas or help, if you decide to be a Pilgrim look at this web page and if you decide to be an Indian look at this web page.
  3. When you are done drawing yourself as a Pilgrim or Indian, add a chore that you would of done to prepare for the big feast to the picture using crayons. For example, yourself hunting, cooking or fishing.
  4. Finally I want you to write or tell me and I will write who you are, Pilgrim or Indian, and the chore you are doing at the bottom of your paper.
Lesson 2 Activity
  1. Think of foods that would have been served at the First Thanksgiving. If you need help, click here.
  2. After you decide what food you are gong to bring to the feast, draw a picture (Pilgrim or Indian) of what you will bring using markers.
  3. When you are done drawing your food, label it with the correct word at the bottom of your paper.


GPS Standard: SSKH1 The student will identify the purpose of national holidays and describe the people or events celebrated.
