About Me
First of all my name is Kelly. My mother is from Colombia, South America and my father is from Mississippi (they met by chance). Bogota, Colombia is my second home, even though I do not speak much Spanish. I love the atmosphere and the culture, it is something you will never experience on U.S. ground. My father passed away three and a half years ago, that has been a growing experience in itself. I miss him everyday, some days more than others. I was born and raised in South Georgia and for the first half of my life I hated it, but nowyou could not get me to leave for more than a week. I love my hometown and the characters that take part in the story of my life. I have a boyfriend (pictured above with me) that I have been with for a little over a year now. We have two dogs that are my babies. They are Boykin Spaniels and probably the best dogs I have ever had. They have so much energy and are so obedient (most of time the anyway). I also have two sisters, 14 and 11, they are so much different than me that sometimes I wonder how we can be related, but they are funny and sweet girls and I love them so much. Now for my mom, my best friend. She has been my rock for the past six years, I don't think I could have gotten to where I am right now if it hadn't been for her. She is getting married this spring and I wish her the best, she deserves it. I just hope she doesn't forget me when she moves away... ha! I love to be outdoors hunting deer or dove, I'd like to try others, but for now those two are the only animals I hunt. I shot my first buck this year and am very proud of him, even though he was kind of small.

My Talents and/or Accomplishments
I have always been into sports. I played softball, basketball, and soccer. I also took dance and did gymnastics. I loved everything I did, but soccer stood out beyond the rest. I love playing soccer. I played for eight years and would still be playing if I had the time. I also played the piano and clarinet, but I haven't played in a long time. I graduated with honors from Valdosta High School and have made the Dean's List for the past three semesters and I keep trying to out do myself.

Something Special I Would Like to Do
I have always wanted to travel around the world and take pictures of beautiful scenery, mainly landscapes and animals like the examples below that I did not take. I look forward to being able to do this during vacations and hunting trips and then coming back and sharing my stories with my class, of course this is after I collect the funds to buy the camera of my dreams, the Nikon D300. I think it is very important for children to have a knowledge of the beauty of nature. Spending times outdoors is a free pasttime that we can all take advantage of.

- Redbook - I love this
website because it has links to items that relate to everyday
life. If I am feeling frumpy or unhappy there are
links to articles and real people blogs that brighten my day. I
love reading the blogs because they can sometimes relate to my life and
help me see life from others point-of-view. They are also
hilarious to read. The ladies that write these blogs have
wonderful senses of humor that really make me laugh.
- Earth and Moon Viewer - This site is really great because it allows the viewer to look at different views of the earth. It has the options to view the Earth from the perspective of the sun, the moon, and the night side of the Earth. You can also view the moon on this site from the perspective of the Earth, the sun, and the night side of the moon. I feel that this site is a wonderful way to teach children how day and night work and what the Earth and moon look like in ways they have never seen before.
- ABC
- I love ABC because it is the television station that most of the
shows I like to watch come on. Normally I go to bed so early that
I do not have the time to watch my shows, so the next day or whenever I
find the time, I go to this site and watch the full episodes. I
love that they have this feature for the ones of us who cannot
view the shows at the time they coem on at night.
- I love
listening to music and this is one way for me to do that
anywhere I am near a computer with internet, not just in my car.
They have so many different stations ranging from oldies to
comedy.
I love having the ability to choose whatever I want to listen to and
change it within seconds depending on what is on each station.
The service is not very expensive and if you love music this is a good
way to spend a little money.
- VSU – This website is the most important site that I visit. I am on this site most of the time that I am on the internet. It links me to my email, where I can connect with my teachers and peers, and it allows me access to the College of Education site that gives me the information I need for my major and the work that I will be doing related to it. Without this site I would probably be irritating my advisor to get a more in depth look into what is going on for the next year and a half of my schooling.
