Hi everyone!
I am from Omega, Georgia. I am a junior at Valdosta State University.
I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. I chose to major in education
because teachers have the power to change lives. I want to be able
to make a difference in someone's life. I strive to be the best educator
that I can be. I attended Araham Baldwin Agricultural College in
Tifton, Georgia, before transferring to VSU.

There have
been many teachers that have influenced my decision to become a teacher.
The largest influence in my decision was my college professor of introduction
to education. I went into that course still undecided and coming
out of that course I knew I had found my place. She always told us
stories or read quotes and no matter what it was, she turned it into a
life lesson. She was understanding, intelligent, and most of all
human. She knew that people make mistakes and that teachers make
mistakes. She never wanted us to be perfect; she only wanted us to
be ourselves.
In the
future I hope to have been a positive influence on all of my students.
I hope to have made a difference in the lives of young people.
I hope to instill self-worth and pride in every student that walks through
my door. I hope to let everyone of my students know that they are
special and that they are loved. Today's children come from all kinds
of backgrounds, including many with no stability in their lives.
I hope that I am able to give them the stability, strength, and the hope
that they need; at least for the few hours that they will share their lives
with me each day.
