Gershon's Monster
Retold
by Eric A. Kimmel
~ Illustrated by Jon J. Muth

Gershon the baker
makes mistakes. He is not a nice man. He
treats others badly and never regrets what he did. Every Friday Gershon
sweeps up all his mistakes and thoughtless acts. Then once a year
on Rosh Hashanah,
Gershon stuffs them into a sack and throws them into the Black Sea. But
his
misdeeds are coming back to haunt him and his beautiful twins may pay
the price.
Critical Thinking Questions
1.
What are some examples of "mistakes and
thoughtless acts"?
2. Why
do
you think it is important to admit you
have done wrong with remorse?
3. Do you ever feel bad for something you know is wrong? How do/did you fix that?
