About Me Hello! I am Jami, and I am a Freshman here at Valdosta State University. I made the wonderful decision to come here after I visited last spring. The campus was so attractive and the size of the school as well as the town was just perfect for me. My future plans are to pursue a degree in secondary math education. If things go as planned I hope to have received my diploma in about four years. I may then go on to get my masters. I hope to get a job teaching high school math near my home town. I am originally from the small town of Claxton, GA, but I am currently residing in Valdosta, GA while attending college. My parents are Milton and Jeanna Kennedy of Claxton and I also have a younger sister, Jessica. |

The Freshman Year Experience The FYE program is designed to help freshman students who are undecided about their major make a suitable decision about their major. It also helps them to adjust to the "college life". Personally, it has helped me in many different ways. I have made so many friends that will last a lifetime. Also it helps to have classes with some of the same people because you can catch up on assignments you miss when you are not in class. Being a part of this program gave me the opportunity to have time to make a decision about my major. I have learned many concepts from this program such as time management skills that will help me throughout my college career. |
