All About Me...
Hello, My name is Jennifer Lynn Goble.  I was born in Valdosta, GA in 1984, so if your math skills aren't great just let me inform you that I have been here 21 years!  Crontrary to what many people believe, Valdosta is a great place.  I plan on never leaving (assuming that my future permits that).   I still live at home with my Mom, Dad, Brother, Dog and Cat, and I wouldn't have it any other way!  Below is a picture of my family.

I have the best friends in the world!   Amanda (top left), Carrie (top right), Christina (bottom left), and Derek (bottom right) all mean the world to me!

I work part-time at a Wholesale Gas Distribution office here in Valdosta where I do accounts payable.  I spend a lot of time at my church working with the children, and I spend a lot of time with my family.  I have a brother, Ryan, and he's 18.  He just started at VSU last semester and he really likes it so far.  My dad, Keith, owns a lawn-mower repair shop in Valdosta (Goble Saw Shop). He has been working there since he was 11 years old, when it used to be a gas and grocery.  Tara, my mom is the secretary for my dad's business and they actually love working together.

Some things that I thoroughly enjoy are crafts of any kind: scrabooking, painting, and designing themed cork-boards.  I love my cat, Murray.  He is the greatest cat, and he always makes me smile!  My most favorite place in the whole world is the beach.  If I had my choice, I would live on a beach in the gulf, wake up at 9am, lay out until 12pm (while reading my favorite Nicholas Sparks book), have lunch, and lay out again from 1pm until the sun goes down.  The closest I get to that in Valdosta is my pool in my backyard.  I love riding down the road with nowhere to go, with my windows rolled down, singing along with my favorite music.

I'm really enjoying the point I am at in my life right now.  Now that I am done with core and starting to work on my professional classes, I am really looking forward to getting into my own classroom and teaching.

Why do I want to be BrOkE/teach?
I can remember from a very young age wanting to be a teacher.  I would get so jealous of my teachers, because they got to write on the marker-board all they wanted to.  I cannot even begin to tell you how many minature marker-boards I went through when I was a child.  If stuffed animals could talk, mine would surprise you at how bright they are...I taught them (literally) everything that they know.  I would set up a classroom in my bedroom when I was younger.  I even had a real class roll book that my aunt gave me.  I would tediously make up names for the class lists and teach my heart out to all of my animals.

I feel like I have been given the talent and ability to teach by God. I truly believe that I was born to teach.  I love to see the look on children's faces when they grasp something that they have been having trouble with.

Let me also be honest...I am looking quite forward to having time off on the holidays with my future children.  The benefits of teaching are awesome, and I cannot see myself having any other job.

My Inspiration...
This is a weird situation.  The teacher that inspired me most was actually a lady that didn't actually "teach" me.  When I was a senior in high school, I did a work-study program where I worked in a First-Grade classroom at Parker-Mathis Elementary School in Valdosta.  The teacher that I worked with for the whole year, Vicky Harper, was not only an amazing teacher, but an amazing woman.  The quality that stood out to me most about her was that her eyes were blind to any prejudices and generalizations.  She believed that all of the children in her classroom could do anything.  Some may need more help than others, however she made sure with all of her will-power that every child was on the same page.

Patience is another quality that she possesed that I have an admiration for.  She would always listen to what each and every child had to say.  No matter what a student had to say, she was all ears, and you could tell she was listening with her heart.  She loved her students not just as students, but as children that hold our future.
