This page is an excellent resource of websites that can be utilized in the class or at home. It covers nine content areas that are commonly focused on. It is a great way to reinforce ideas outside the class.

Bobbie Bear
NCTM provides tools and resources to help educators and parents teach and reinforce math concepts. Bobbie Bear is a lesson that aids in counting strategies.
High Temperature
This resource provides worksheets and teaching strategies for teaching temperature. It also includes different activities and strategies for each grade level.
Math Games
This website has many games and worksheets for various math topics for grades 3-5. Games are a great way to apply math in everyday life.
Science

Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs are cool! This website includes many activities and games to help in lesson planning as well as interactive instruction.

Language Arts


Roller Coaster Ride
An activity for children from Kindergarten to second. The students are asked to answer questions to finish the roller coaster ride!
Bookmarks
This is a great activity for these particular grade levels. You can have the students write down words that they don't understand for later vocabulary instruction.
My Autobiography
This is a fun activity to have your students create their own autobiographies. With the use of this link both parents and teachers will have access to the whole assignment. This is useful so the assignment can be started before school starts. After clicking the link, scroll down to BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AUTOBIOGRAPHY GRADES: 2-8 for the assignment.
Integrating Technology into Language Arts
This website provides an entire list of webquest assignments so that your students/children can become familiar with using the internet while increasing their language art skills. This is a good way to get a head start over the summer!

School Home Links-Kindergarten
This is a great website for parents and teachers. It offers worksheets that are aligned to the standards for Kindergarten. Adobe Acrobat is required to pull up worksheets.
Reading Comprehension for K-2
This worksheet is for the K-2 age group and is about reading and following the directions. This particular worksheet is about easter eggs but the home site, ABC TEACH has some worksheets for all occasions.
The Tropical Forest
This website provides reading sheets and their corresponding worksheets to check for understanding. Different ones can be used in class and at home to reinforce concepts.
The Solar System
This website provides reading sheets and their corresponding worksheets to learn about the solar system. This is a great tool to expand a class lesson into a home activity.

Paint On-Line
This is an interactive program, so that students and your children can begin to experiment with different styles of painting. A great way to integrate art and technology.
Art for Kindergarten
This website has many ideas for children at this grade level. The instuctions are clearly presented and can be done at school or at home.
Freedom Bracelets
This is a great activity to integrate art into history and current events. This site has instructions on how to make freedom bracelets to honor September 11th.
Art and Architecture
This activity is for the older child, approximately at this age range. It is a great way to incorporate art history into an art lesson. The instructions and directions are clearly displayed to make this project easy to do.
Music


The Piano Player
An interactive keyboard that teachs the location of the musical notes on a piano. Seems more geared towards younger children, but the levels can be adjusted.
Music Flashcards
This website has flash cards to review concepts in music. It is a great way to go over musical concepts before a test or introduce them to students as new concepts.
Play Music
This website has an array of options for the older child. The theme is geared towards music at different levels, from playing instruments to writing music.
The Music Room-In-depth Music Information
A page on music history from different musical periods. You can also listen to the corresponding music. Has a glossary of musical terminology, and information on composers and instruments.
Physical education






Directions Boogie
This is an activity that can be taught at school and reinforced at home. It involves rhythm and movement as well as following directions.
Hokey Pokey Aerobics
Directed towards younger children. A good physical education activity to do in any setting.

Macarena Tag
Play the game of tag to the tune of the macarena song. The instructions are a little advanced and are better suited for older children.
Inside and Outside Games
This website has a host of activities that would be fun to play with older primary children. A lot of the games are old classics with a new spin; just enough to keep your children interested.
Health and Hygiene

This web page contains ideas and activities to do with your students/children. It includes songs, poems and suggestions!
Visit the Dentist With Marty
An interactive story for grades preschool through second. Story promotes good and proper dental hygiene.
To Tell the Tooth
Interactive game about dental hygiene for second and third grade. Game helps promote dental hygiene for older children.
The Scrub Club
Teaches the importance of good personal hygiene. Website contains games, stories and a series of web episodes on the importance of killing germs. This website contains many different elements of play for different levels.
