1. What does it when one says, "Learners must
be disciplined?" (2) (e.g., what is discipline in its broadest meaning?)
2. Why are interruptions more damaging to
engaged time than late starts or early finishes?(2)
3. Why should teachers start class on time and not
finish early (or late!)? (2)
4. Why should classroom rountine(s), including a
behavior management system focused on both social and academic behaviors,
be "in place" at the beginning of the school year? (3)
5. List the steps (in order) one goes through to
change a student's social behavior. (5)
6. What is a token economy system and how would one "set one up" in a class? (5)
7. Ms. White's class is noted as a "social
disaster area" in her school. Kids who are well-mannered act crazy
in her class; they are loud, they don't follow directions, they interrupt
her (they don't ask for permission before speaking); they cheat on formal
assessments, etc. Ms. White repeatedly reminds the kids of the class rules
when they break one of them. She has to remind them a lot! Set up
a token economy to "fix" this class, given that you suddenly
became a permanent substitute for the class. (6)
