I am currently a Full-time Lecturer at Valdosta State University. Before VSU, I worked with several local colleges and universities teaching English composition, Business English, and English as a Second Language (ESL).  I have also taught online courses which can be a valuable resource for students.

In addition, I hold a BA and MA from Valdosta State University as well as an ESOL Endorsement.  I plan to pursue a Doctorate in Children's Literature in the near future.

My professional interests include 18th and 19th century Children's Literature as well as Medieval literature.  I also have a keen interest in several Contemporary pieces but my favorite by far is the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.  However, a few inspiring authors, which include Jane Austin, Sara Teasdale, John Keats, Mark Twain, and Stephen King, have also sparked my imagination over the years.  My interest has also grown into a fondness for Gothic literature and Gothic Architecture.  Gargoyles, Griffins, as well as other mythical creatures fascinate me.

In between reading, studying, and grading, I like to watch various film genres, including Sci-Fi, thriller, and drama.  My choice movies are The Mummy and Jurassic Park.  I also research my family genealogy, which can be very illuminating, especially when one finds long-lost relatives all over the world to chat with.  I also love spending time with my pets.  I have a collie (Audrey), a German Shepherd mix (Sheba), a Golden Retriever (Phebe), a Manx (Gizmo), a short hair (Lanie), and a pompoo/ Chihuahua mix (Boomer).  Finally, my short and long term goals include traveling (see my various travel photos) and eventually, after retiring, owning a small bookstore to marvel in.

Overall, I have a diverse list of interests that seem to expand as I travel, learn, listen, and teach.
