The Green Frogs
A Korean Folktale
Retold and Illustrated by Yumi Heo

three

Two little frogs live at home with their mother.  They never obey her.  Everything she tells them to do, they do the opposite.  If she tells them to be quiet, they croak as loud as they can.  If she tells them to not get dirty, they make sure that they are covered in dirt from head to toe.  Their mother's dying wish is to be buried in the shade beside the stream.  In the end, their disobedience cause a major problem.  What do you think the major problem will be?

Why is it a good idea to obey your parents?
What do you think will happen at the end of the story?
